Lange Johnston at Empire at 138 Friday

Singer and pianist Mimi Lange Johnston of Tiffin, who has performed in many Chicago music rooms, is to perform at 9 p.m. Friday at Empire at 138, 138 S. Washington St.

Lange Johnston has performed at the Palmer House, Intercontinental and has had a year-long residency at the Fairmont Hotel’s Metropole Room. She has built a following of fans and has knowledge of songs from the American Songbook, Broadway shows and the Billboard charts.

TDC Halloween

Parade is Sunday

Tiffin Developmental Center is to host the 62nd annual Halloween Parade at 2 p.m. Sunday.

The gand marshal is to be Bruce Wayne, aka Batman. Wayne is a long-time employee with TDC and volunteers as Batman for events.

Craft beer tasting

Sunday afternoon

Tiffin Historic Trust is to host a Steinway Afternoon and Craft Beer Tasting 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the Grammes-Brown House and Garden, 172 Jefferson St.

Guests can enjoy a flight of beers from the local Laird Arcade Brewery, warm apple cider from Empire at 138, light hors d’oeuvres and a howler to take home either empty or filled for an additional charge.

Heidelberg choir

to open season

BELLEVUE — Heidelberg University Concert Choir is to kick-off the 2018-19 performance season with a concert at 3 p.m. Sunday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 231 E. Center St., Bellevue.

Under the direction of Greg Ramsdell, director of choral activities and associate professor of choral music education, and accompanied by Cynthia Ramsdell, the 58-member vocal choir is to present a concert with the theme “Oh! The Places You’ll Go.”

Terra State concert series starts Oct. 28

FREMONT – Terra State Music Department has announced its upcoming fall concert series starting at 3 p.m. Oct. 28 with “Musical Colors of Autumn” featuring the chamber ensemble, percussion ensemble and symphony orchestra.

At 3 p.m. Nov. 11 the Terra brass choir, jazz band and symphonic band is to present “A Salute to our Veterans.”

The annual holiday concert is to take place at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 1 with the Terra Choral Society, symphony orchestra and percussion ensemble.

The Terra Choral Society is to perform with the Toledo Symphony at 4 p.m. Dec. 2 in the presentation of Handel’s Messiah at the Rosary Cathedral. Tickets can be purchased at toledo
