5 injured in rollover accident at CR 38, TR 73
A woman, her husband and her three children suffered non-life-threatening injuries during a two-vehicle rollover accident at CR 38 and TR 73 Sunday afternoon.
Deputy Denny Wilkinson, of the Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, said Marilyn A. Morton, 87, of Tiffin, was driving a 2006 Cadillac four-door north on TR 73.
He said Morton did not see a 2003 Chevrolet pickup truck being driven east on CR 38 by Kiley A. Voorhees, 30, of Risingsun.
“(Morton’s) Cadillac struck (Voorhees’) pickup truck in the passenger side door,” Wilkinson said. “The truck then hit the guard rail, which flipped the truck on its side.”
He said Morton was treated at the scene and released while Voorhees and her four passengers, who Wilkinson did not name Sunday night, were taken by Tiffin Fire Rescue Division to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital.
“Everyone involved in the accident were secured in seat belts and car seats,” Wilkinson said. “As of (Sunday afternoon), I just talked to the husband who was at the ER, it’s just bumps, bruises and scratches.”
A Seneca County Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the accident was reported at about 1 p.m. Sunday.
The spokesman said Clinton Joint Fire District, the county’s Echo unit, two squads from Tiffin Fire Rescue Division and Bascom EMS responded to the crash.
Wilkinson said the accident was under investigation and citations were pending Sunday night.
He said both vehicles were towed from the scene.
