Drop off old prescriptions Saturday
WASHINGTON — U.S. Sens. Sherrod Brown, D-Ohio, and Rob Portman, R-Ohio, announced Wednesday more than 250 sites where Ohioans may dispose of unwanted prescription drugs on National Prescription Drug Take Back Day Saturday, according to a press release.
Drop-off times are 10 a.m.-2 p.m.
Drop-off locations include Bellevue Police Department, 3000 Seneca Industrial Parkway; Clyde Police Department, 222 N. Main St.; Fostoria Police Department, 213 S. Main St.; Seneca County Sheriff’s Office, 3040 S. SR 100; and Tiffin Police Department, 51 E. Market St., Suite 4.
The release states the day is sponsored by the U.S. Department of Justice Drug Enforcement Administration.
Brown introduced legislation that provides U.S. Customs and Border Protection with additional hi-tech screening equipment and lab resources to detect fentanyl before it enters the U.S.. The bill passed the U.S. House of Representatives this week and is up for passage by the Senate, the release states.
