Good Shepherd Home to host scrapbooking event

FOSTORIA – The annual Good Shepherd Home Scrapper’s Crop is to take place 8 a.m.-6 p.m. Jan. 27 at Good Shepherd Home, 725 Columbus Ave.

Advance registration costs $10. The deadline for registration is Jan. 24.

The Good Shepherd Home’s Eagle Creek General Store and Close To My Heart, a scrapbooking vendor, will be available as well. Prizes and door prizes are to be given out throughout the day.

Right to Life events planned locally

In conjunction with the national March For Life in Washington, D.C., Jan. 21, two local groups of supporters have slated events closer to home.

Sunday, Fostoria Bascom Area Prolife Group is to have a candlelight memorial walk in Bascom. Walkers can gather at 6:30 p.m. at St. Patrick Church and proceed to Bascom United Methodist Church for a service at 7 p.m. A shuttle service is to be available. Gretchen Schellenger is to give this year’s presentation.

Tiffin Right to Life has scheduled a March for Life at 2 p.m. Jan. 21 at St. Joseph Church in Tiffin. Following prayers in the church, a procession is to make its way down Washington Street to St. Joseph Cemetery’s Memorial of the Unborn. A shuttle service is to be provided.

Also, a few seats are available for a bus trip to the march in Washington. The bus would leave Tiffin Jan. 18 and return Jan. 21. The cost of $200 per person includes transportation, a three-night hotel stay, daily breakfast and sightseeing stops. For more details, call Jennifer at (419) 934-5165.

Pink to sing national anthem at Super Bowl Feb. 4

Pink is heading to the Super Bowl to sing the national anthem.

The NFL announced Monday the pop star will perform “The Star-Spangled Banner” before the game Feb. 4 at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis.

Justin Timberlake is to headline the halftime show. The Super Bowl is to air live on NBC.
