Two hurt in Reed Township accident

Two people were hurt in a rollover accident in Reed Township Tuesday morning. Sgt. Matt Davis of the Fremont post of State Highway Patrol said Michele Compton, 46, of Sandusky, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Malibu north on TR 81.

She said a spider was on the outside of the window crawling in, and she took her eyes off the road to swat it and lost control, Davis said.

The vehicle went off the left side of the road, struck a ditch and cornfield, overturned and came to rest on its top, he said.

Davis said Compton and her passenger, Allen Goodman, 43, of Republic, were wearing seatbelts and were taken by Attica-Venice-Reed EMS District to The Bellevue Hospital.

Compton was cited with failure to control, he said.

Attica Venice-Reed Fire District and Seneca County Sheriff’s Office personnel assisted.
