Fostoria man accused of theft, fleeing and eluding
A Fostoria man was accused of driving a vehicle without the owner’s consent and fleeing from a police officer, according to Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court records.
Andrew J. Graeter, 18, was charged with fleeing and eluding an officer, a third-degree felony, and theft, a fourth-degree felony, they state.
According to court records, Graeter noticed a push-button start inside a 2015 Honda 4A in March. The vehicle started, and he drove off without the owner’s consent, they state.
A police officer activated overhead lights to try to stop the vehicle, and it reached a speed greater than 60 mph on North Main Street, according to court records.
The vehicle was launched into the air over a CSX crossing and landed an estimated 116 feet beyond a crossing on Spruce Street, court records state.
Graeter was incarcerated in Seneca County Jail Thursday evening, a jail spokesman said.
