Three in a Toledo hospital after accident in Bascom
Three people involved in an accident in Bascom Saturday morning were hospitalized in a Toledo hospital Tuesday.
Janet M. Herzog, 56, of Tiffin, had been driving a 2017 Ford Explorer west on SR 18, and Thomas M. Wagner, 64, of Fostoria, had been driving a 2014 Chevrolet Cruze east on West SR 18.
Herzog was pulling into a driveway for a house next to Bascom Carry-Out. She turned in front of Wagner, and the Ford Explorer struck the Chevrolet Cruze, according to Seneca County Sheriff’s Office.
Two of Wagner’s passengers — William S. Wagner, 93, of Fostoria, and Barbara L. Wagner, 74, of Fostoria — were taken by helicopter to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center, according to the sheriff’s office.
A third passenger, Martha B. Wagner, 93, of Fostoria, was taken by Bascom EMS to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hopital and then was taken by Life Flight to Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center.
They all were at Mercy Health – St. Vincent Medical Center on Tuesday, according to the sheriff’s office.
Herzog was taken by a family member to Mercy Health – Tiffin Hospital and was cited with failure to yield while making a left turn, according to the sheriff’s office.
