Shirley A. Poignon
Shirley A. Poignon, 78, of Tiffin, passed away Saturday morning, Feb. 4, 2017, at her home surrounded by her loving family.
On July 31, 1938, in New Riegel, she was born to Peter and Marie (Piccuito) Lauterbur. She married James A. Poignon June 12, 1970.
Survivors include her husband, Jim; two daughters, Pat (Cliff) Margraf of Sycamore and Julie (Joe) Veigl of Tiffin; five sons, Sonny (Debbie Rudzik) Poignon of Pulaski, Pennsylvania, John (Donna) Poignon of Tiffin; Jim Poignon of Springfield, Virginia, Rob (Julie) Poignon of Sylvania and Skip (Wendy) Poignon of Temperance, Michigan; 18 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; a brother, Michael Lauterbur of Tiffin; five sisters, Donna Thallman, Rita Keckler, Mildred (James) Starkey and Margarete (Paul) Breitigam, all of Tiffin, and Florence Frasure of Findlay; many cousins, especially John and Pam Pullella of Sylvania; and many special friends, Neil and Keitha Williams of Ada, Bob and Juanita Shreck of Cedarville, Bill and Maridell Gault of Findlay, Ron and Lana Campbell of Grand Rapids, Michigan, and Jane Miller of Tiffin.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, Mary Brown, and twins Karen and Sharon Lauterbur; and special friends, Harry Miller and Chuck and Rosalie England.
Shirley was a chef, working in food service for many area restaurants over the years, and a cake decorator. She loved raising and spending every moment with her family. She enjoyed fishing, summers at Meinke Marina, traveling the United States and entertaining family and friends.
Her funeral will begin at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8, 2017, at Hoffmann-Gottfried-Mack Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow at St. Boniface Catholic Cemetery, New Riegel.
Friends may visit and share stories with the family 3-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
