Janet Dorene Hall
Janet Dorene Hall, 73, of Upper Sandusky, passed away Friday, Aug. 4, 2017, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
She was born Oct. 10, 1943, in Washington, D.C., to James R. and Bernice M. (Hunt) Hall. Janet was 5 years old when her father passed. After James’ passing, her mother, Bernice, met her future husband, Early Woody Shinn, at Bernice’s Place, Cottage Ville, West Virginia. That is how Janet ended up in northwest Ohio. Janet married Thomas E. Hall, in 1961, in Sycamore, and they later divorced.
Janet is survived by a son, Jeffrey (Sherri) Hall of Fort Wayne, Indiana, and a daughter, Jennifer (Robert) Kildee of Lansing, Michigan. Janet was known as MawMaw and deeply loved by her four grandchildren, James Silvers, Rebecca Kildee, Courtney Hall and Brent Hall; and two great-granddaughters, Gabriella and Layla Silvers. She also is survived by two brothers, Keith Shinn and Carl (Helen) Shinn, both of McCutchenville and three sisters, JoAnn (Dan) Moll of Upper Sandusky, Donna (Randy) McKee of Hardy, Virginia, and Hope (Mike) Bogart of Upper Sandusky.
Janet graduated from Sycamore High School with the class of 1961. She was a homemaker and a member of Crawford United Methodist Church. For hobbies, she enjoyed reading, watching old movies, studying Native American history and spending time with her family. She also was an avid Chicago Cubs fan. She will be deeply missed.
A graveside service will begin at 1 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017, at Pine Hills Cemetery, Ripley, West Virginia, with the Rev. Rick Perrine officiating.
