Bernice Price, 88, of Bloomville, passed away Friday, April 20, 2018, at Wyandot Memorial Hospital, Upper Sandusky.
Bernice was born Dec. 19, 1929, in Cromers Station, Eden Township, Tiffin, to Halcyon and Laura (Smith) Detterman. She married Clifford Price, in Bloomville, Nov. 14, 1948. He preceded her in death Jan. 12, 2018.
Survivors include her three children, Andrew (Patricia) Price of Bloomville, Janis Hoover of Mansfield and Sally (Perry) Tyler of Noblesville, Indiana; seven grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Kenneth (Evalena) Detterman of Bloomville, Gerald (Donna) Detterman of Bucyrus and Charles Detterman of Tiffin; a sister, Patricia Clark of Attica; a sister-in-law, Mabel Detterman of Bucyrus; and a brother-in-law, Kevin Rothaar of Brokensword.
She also was preceded in death by a son, Rodney Price; a sister, Zelma Rothaar; and a brother, Dick Detterman.
Bernice was a member of Baseline St. John’s United Church of Christ, a Sunday School teacher and played the piano and organ. Bernice was an artist and gave private art lessons. She was a member of Tiffin Art Guild and a 1948 graduate of Bloomville High School. She loved sewing and gardening.
The funeral for Bernice will begin at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 26, 2018, at Lindsey-Olds Funeral Home, Bloomville with the Rev. Dr. Louis Dorsch officiating. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery, Bloomville.
Visitation for family and friends will be 4-7 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
