Arthur Lewis Beard

Arthur Lewis Beard, 98, of Bonita Springs, Florida, passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2019, at Heritage Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

He was born July 15, 1920, in Sycamore, to Mont and Esther (nee Feightner) Beard.

Arthur is survived by his daughter, Becky Singleton and her husband, James of Bonita Springs, Florida; two granddaughters, Amy (nee Fetzer) Gittelman and her husband, Marc of Aventura, Florida and Holly Fetzer of Tiffin; four great-grandchildren, Chandra Rielle, Gage Matthew, Carlos Dennis and Sophia Rebecca; and three great-great-grandsons, Kaliber, Kaidence and Kyrie.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Mont and Esther Beard; five brothers, Kenneth, Leonard, Neil, Dale and William Beard; and two sisters, Bonetta Ward and Leahbelle Miller all of Sycamore.

Arthur attended school in Sycamore, before enlisting in the Army during World War II. He was a life-long farmer in the Sycamore and Tiffin area. Along with farming, he worked for Whirlpool Corporation as a floor inspector and retired June 1, 1984. Arthur loved to talk to people; noone was a stranger to him.

Graveside memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. Saturday, June 15, 2019, at Hodges Funeral Home, Naples Memorial Gardens, 525-111th Ave N, Naples, FL 34108.
