Upset with coverage

Calvert Elementary School would like to recognize the efforts of everyone from the Tiffin Police Department earlier this week regarding an incident which occurred on our playground. Their swift and immediate response was impressive, to say the least. Sgt. Rob Bour and Lt. Jason Windsor took control of the situation and went out of their way to be patient, kind and gentle while interviewing the students who were visibly upset. I would also like to recognize the great efforts of every teacher, staff member and student in our school. Although the students were extremely scared, the teachers did an amazing job of bringing a sense of peace into the classrooms. I wish I could say something positive about the coverage from The Advertiser-Tribune, but I am very disappointed in the fact that we were never given the opportunity to share our version of the events that day. As you all know, there are always two sides to every story, and sadly we were not able to share ours. As principal of the elementary school I could not be more proud of how the teachers and students handled the situation this week. It’s always a great day to be a Calvert Seneca!
