New development in Tiffin: Good and Bad

As a life long citizen of Tiffin area I have seen good and bad decisions made regarding new development. The Architecture Review Board has a big decision to allow or not allow a single structure for removal. Allowing the removal of the Kear’s Speed Shop building would allow for connecting two areas that that can be developed. The Developer wants to develop hotel, lofts, condos and restaurant with a river walk connecting them.

Without the demolition of the Kear Building would jeopardize the whole project. Recent studies show the need for more housing, we all paid for that study through our taxes. Both areas that would be connected and developed are currently a blight. New development of this type is want will help further development of the downtown area.

This will bring jobs, shoppers, and hotel guess all adding to the economy. We have two great universities in Tiffin that will support the area along with other visitors during events in and around Tiffin. Bottom line this overall project will bring take our town to the next level that we have been trying to achieve for several years now. The proposed project for housing and hotel guest will bring and keep people to all downtown businesses.
