BASEBALL: The 1969 state championship New Riegel baseball team will be honored prior to the Division IV state title game June 9 at 1 p.m. at Canal Park in Akron.
RACING: Pitbike races, Sandusky Valley Riders, 232 CH 37, rural Sycamore, about seven miles south of Tiffin via CR 19 is having the opening round of four-round season. FISHING: The second annual Hopewell-Loudon Fishing Derby is June 1 at Fostoria Reservoir No. 3 (Lamberjack) on Lakeview Drive. Registration is at 9-45 a.m. and cost is $10 per participant. Open to students in grades K-6. Grades K-4 must be accompanied by a parent/guardian. Fishing starts at 10 a.m. and will conclude at noon with lunch and awards presentation. FOOTBALL: Columbian will offer its youth camp June 3-6 at Frost-Kalnow Stadium for boys or girls entering first through eighth grade. Sessions run 9-11 a.m. each day. Players will be divided into tunnel, gym and Old Fort Fitness Center in case of inclement weather. Cost is $30. Pre-registration guarantees a T-shirt. Fliers are available at Washington Elementary, Krout Elementary, Noble Elementary and Tiffin Middle School.
BASEBALL CAMP: Heidelberg Baseball Youth Camp runs 9 a.m.-2 p.m. June 10-12 for boys and girls entering grades K-8. It’s $80 per camper and $65 for siblings. YOUTH SOCCER: The Sycamore Soccer League is accepting registrations through July 15. Area players age 5 by Aug. 1 through eighth grade are welcome to join the recreational league.
