Blue Devils coast past Royals

CAREY — Carey’s first two scorers shot better than Wynford’s leader Thursday as the Blue Devils claimed a 174-191 Northern 10 Athletic Conference win at Bob’s Countryside Golf Course.

Dylan Grothaus carded a medalist round of 40 for the Blue Devils (3-2, 2-1 N10) and Ethan Tanner shot a 42.

Kole Phillips and Carter Frederick each fired a 46 to back them up. McKain Miller (47) and Peyton Young (49) also played for Carey.

Logan Sand’s 43 led the Royals (2-3, 2-2). Kayleb Keaton had a 48 and Kyle Koons and Mitch Zaebst added twin 50s.

TC thumps Vermilion

Ava Sarka fired a 43 Thursday to key Columbian’s 215-279 win against Vermilion at Mohawk Country Club.

Meredith Obringer chipped in a 54 for the Tornadoes, and Taylor Losey and Norah Smith each shot a 59. Tyler Ward (61) and Audrey Buskirk (69) also played for TC.

Kennedy Hughes paced the Sailors with a 53, Wren Wilfing had a 73, Clare Kroph shot a 75 and Marley McCauley turned in a 78. Rielly Messer (79) and Alexis Klein (79) rounded out Vermilion’s team.

Tornadoes stay perfect

Columbian moved to 5-0 Thursday by beating Bellevue 180-200 at Mohawk Country Club.

Andrew Branson sparked the victory for the Tornadoes with a medalist round of 41, Greg Gase carded a 45, Brenton Brown shot a 46 and Griffin Bunting tallied a 48.

Trevor McCarthy (50) and Collin Anway (50) also played for TC.

The Redmen (1-3) got a 46 from Garrett Vickery, 50 from Layne Krupp, 51 from Zach Eskins and 53 from Connor Rospert. Alex Martinez (55) and Hayden Foos (56) also played for Bellevue.

Warriors fall to Bucyrus

BUCYRUS — Bucyrus held off Mohawk 220-228 Thursday.

Zach King’s 56 keyed the Warriors (0-2) in the loss. Logan Drum added a 58, Owen England had a 70 and Even Kuenzli shot a 76.

Tigers get around H-L

FOSTORIA — Seneca East outlasted Hopewell-Loudon 193-199 at Loudon Meadows.

Jake Forehand claimed the medalist honor with a 45 for Seneca East, one stroke better than Hopewell-Loudon’s Owen Schumm.

Turner Bridgford and Andy Bauman backed up Forehand with twin 49s for the Tigers, and Andrew Kalb and Jon Margraf each had a 50. Jay Shock (72) also played for Seneca East.

Cody Balliet added a 49 for the Chieftains, Luke Graham shot a 51 and Devon Falter had a 53. Kiley Cline (54) and Layne Myers (67) also played for H-L.

Heydinger leads Bucks

ONTARIO — Liz Heydinger fired a 48 to lead Buckeye Central past Ontario 206-239 Thursday at Oak Tree.

Backing Heydinger was Alli Stahl with a 49, Leah Vanderpool shot a 53 and Lexi Biglin carded a 56. Layne Vanderpool (57) and Beth Cronau (60) also played for the Bucks.
