St. Joe takes SBC River title
Fremont St. Joe must have really wanted to win the Sandusky Bay Conference River Division, racing out to a 7-0 lead over Calvert after three innings Wednesday en route to a 9-0 victory.
Brody Deck limited the Senecas to just two hits over six innings. He fanned eight and walked five. Nolan Wuescher took the loss in five innings of work. He gave up seven runs (two earned) on four hits. He struck our four and walked four. The Senecas committed six errors.
Ethan Vera and Josh Gase each doubled for Calvert.
Lakota finishes .500 by knocking off St. Mary
KANSAS — Lakota finished the season .500 with a 5-3 win over Sandusky St. Mary in Sandusky Bay Conference River Division action.
Jayden Bonnell, Cameron Balderson and Kaeden Wasserman each had a hit for the Raiders (14-14, 8-6 SBC River). Wasserman drove in two runs and scored a run. Balderson and Jake Hoffman scored a run, while Josh Matz and Kaleb Mahler each had a run and an RBI.
Hoffman got the win on the mound, going four innings, giving up two runs on three hits. He struck out five and walked three. Carter Reinhart came for the save.
Carey downs Redmen,
Rams win N10 outright
CAREY — Carey did Northern 10 Athletic Conference rival Upper Sandusky a huge favor Wednesday, beating Bucyrus 9-5, giving the outright N10 title to the Rams.
Bucyrus led the Blue Devils 5-4 after two innings, before Carey tied things up with a run in the fourth. Then Hailey Niederkohr belted a grand slam to open things up. She also tripled, singled and drove in five runs for the Blue Devils (21-6, 13-3). Lexia Clinger singled three times, Mary Racheter singled twice and Kenzie Snyder singled and drove in a run.
Alexis Dye tripled, doubled, singled twice and drove in three runs for the Redmen (19-9, 13-3).
Hannah Lonsway got the win the in the pitching circle, allowing five runs (two earned) on nine hits in a complete game. She struck out three and walked a pair. Dye was the losing pitcher. She gave up nine runs on 12 hits in six innings.
